Open Market Consultation

Already in 2013, during an open workshop in interaction with knowledge institutions and companies, the challenge for hydrographic surveys was made concrete and an analysis of the 'state of the art' was made. In 2017, a market survey was conducted via written procedure to confirm the 'state of the art' with regard to hydrographic surveys or digital elevation models (DEMs). All operators, knowledge institutions and companies large or small were invited to participate. The survey ran until September 25, 2017.

Based on the results of the market consultation, we decided to follow a pre-commercial (PCP) process in which research and development services are tendered. A PCP process takes place in phases, with first a concept development and then the development and testing of a prototype solution. With a PCP approach it is also possible to have multiple concepts developed in parallel.
